Beer and Carving

Since our last post, we have been talking non-stop amongst ourselves about different pumpkin beers. So we decided to stop talking and start tasting.

We threw ourselves a little party and carved some pumpkins while we drank/learned about different pumpkin beer.

Below are the results...
of the pumpkin carving...

aaand the beers we drank...
We tried (from the left) Magic Hat Hex (not a pumpkin...), Fisherman's Imperial Pumpkin Stout, Shipyard Pumpkinhead, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale and Blue Point Brewing Company Pumpkin Ale.

Hopefully we open in fall so we can make our pumpkin beer sauce!

There are a few pumpkin ales in the Boston area that you can get your hands on easily, like Southern Tier's Pumking, Kennbunkport Pumpkin Ale, Saranac Pumpkin Ale, Southampton Pumpkin Ale, Cambridge Brewing Company's Great Pumpkin Ale, Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale, Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale, bonus points if you can get your hands on Carolina Beer Company's Pumpkin Ale. A wide world of pumpkin out there!

A friend of mine is currently brewing a pumpkin beer for his company. (He's been brewing for many years, so he's not a newbie.) If you're interested in trying it, let me know and I can set something up.
